The Slough Consortium 11+: change of assessment provider from 2027
The Slough Consortium — Herschel, Langley, St Bernard's Catholic and Upton Court grammar schools — is changing the provider of its 11+ assessment. From the September 2027 sitting, the assessment is provided by Quest Assessments, replacing GL Assessment.
Who this applies to
Children currently in Year 5 sit the Quest Assessments 11+ in September 2027, for entry in September 2028. Children currently in Year 4 sit this in September 2028, for entry in September 2029.
Format
Two papers, each around 50 minutes:
- Paper 1 — English comprehension and verbal reasoning
- Paper 2 — Non-verbal reasoning and maths

Quest Assessments publishes free familiarisation material for the Consortium assessment: a familiarisation booklet for each of the four subjects, guidance written for children, a vocabulary list and recommended reading lists.
